Auto Sales Breach 300K Mark |
The local automotive industry sold 317,364 units from January to August this year.
According to data from the Philippine Automotive Dealers Association, 82,245 passenger cars and 235,119 commercial vehicles were sold during the first eight months of 2024.
Toyota dominated sales with 44.32 percent total market share, selling 42,265 passenger cars and 98,389 commercial vehicles during the period, topping both segments.
Coming in second in total market share is Mitsubishi with 18.71 percent, selling 18,075 passenger cars and 41,294 commercial vehicles, ranking second in both segments.
Third in market share during the eight-month period is Ford with 5.97 market share, reporting sales of 18,752 commercial vehicles, third in the segment, and 209 passenger cars.
Suzuki sold 6,375 passenger cars during the period, third in the segment while also selling 6,831 commercial vehicles, eighth in the CV segment.
Honda was fourth in passenger car sales during the eight-month period with 4,386 units sold, while also selling 5,895 commercial vehicles.
Nissan ranked fourth in commercial vehicles sales, recording 17,598 units sold while also selling 672 passenger cars.
