The Next-Generation Ford Territory is Ready to Own Every Road Trip Moment |
Five months since its launch at the Manila International Auto Show, the
Next-Generation Ford Territory remains to be the benchmark among small SUVs
in the Philippines. With its commanding contemporary design, premium and
spacious interiors, and advanced smart and safety features, the Next-Gen
Territory is a complete driving package fit for a variety of lifestyles.
To showcase the dynamically-designed and efficiently-engineered 5-seater
SUV, Ford Philippines held the Next-Gen Ford Territory Experiential Drive
and invited members of the automotive media and content creators to be at
the driver's seat of Ford's popular small SUV.
With a two-day drive itinerary that included traversing the zigzag roads of Rizal, the highways of Laguna, and the hills of Tagaytay to arrive at the picturesque Anya Resort, participants got to fully experience the vehicle and what it's like to own every road trip moment behind the wheel.
On Road Standout
Even before participants left to hit the road, the Next-Gen Territory easily turned heads thanks to its stylish exterior compromised of an integrated honeycomb grille complemented by signature daytime running lamps and full-LED headlights.
Also making the Next-Gen Territory a standout on the road is the 18-inch and 19-inch Alloy Wheels for the Territory Titanium and Territory Titanium X, respectively. The Titanium X's Panoramic Moonroof upped the driving experience further as it bathed the cabin in natural light with just a press of a button.
Premium Interior
Participants were in for a treat as they experienced the Next-Gen
Territory's premium and spacious interior during the course of the 6-hour
drive heading to Tagaytay. Comfort and function were maximized through
Perforated and Ventilated Leather seats for Titanium X, with a 10-Way Power
Adjust for the driver's seat and 4-Way Manual Adjust for the passenger seat
for both variants.
Space was not a problem for the participants who brought their bags for the 2-day trip, as the Next-Gen Territory is equipped with spacious storage compartments, and a big trunk that can hold up to 448 liters-which can be used to carry with ease two big-size luggage or a variety of sporting equipment.
Capability at Every Kilometer
The Next-Gen Territory's EcoBoost 1.5L engine was certainly put to the test.
Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and capable of up to 248Nm of
torque and impressive horsepower of up to 160 PS, the 5-seater small-SUV
remained steady whether it was speeding up on the open highway or taking on
uphill roads.
As the Next-Gen Ford Territory Drive convoy hit zigzag highways around Rizal
enroute to Laguna, participants were made to experience switching between
different drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain to get a feel of the
vehicle depending on the terrain. From mountains to agricultural views,
participants knew they were taking a respite from the daily city grind.
Convenience and Safety
Upon reaching the relaxation stop for the trip at Anya Resort in Tagaytay,
participants played games that showcased the different Driver-Assist
Technologies of the Next-Gen Territory.
To experience just how reliable the Next-Gen Territory's 360-degree camera
is, participants were made to go through a drive course that had tight
spaces and blind spots for the driver. With the added clear view of the
environment around the Next-Gen Territory, all participants got through the
maze with ease.
Next, attendees were made to test the Next-Gen Territory's Active Park Assist through a parking game. Active Park Assist is a feature which helps drivers park in parallel and perpendicular situations through a touch of a button. With an appreciation of the feature, participants were surprised when asked to take their hands off the wheel and let the Territory park itself.
Connected Every TimeTechnology is at the heart of the Next-Gen Territory which allowed participants to enjoy comfort and connectivity during the drive experience, which included the large 12-inch central touch screen, spread to the sides, incorporating a 7-inch (Titanium) or 12-inch (Titanium X) digital instrument cluster that supported the driver with easier access to controls of all vehicle functions.
A rotary e-Shifter helped the participants change gears with ease while providing access to audio and other function controls in just a click.
Other premium tech features that come with the Next-Gen Territory include Wireless Charging, USB Type C and Type A charging, and Wireless Apple Carplay® and Android Auto™ capability.
"The Next-Generation Ford Territory Drive was designed for participants to experience the segment-leading features that make it a standout among Filipino SUV customers. With its contemporary design, comfortable interior, and smart and safe features, the Next-Gen Territory is an SUV that is perfect for young professionals and starting families alike," says Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines.
