Ranger Tops 4x4 Pickup Segment |
The Ford Ranger is the top-selling 4x4 pickup in 2020.
Ford Philippines said it sold 9,767 Rangers in 2020 for a market share of 24 percent.
Of the total number of Rangers sold, 5,093 came with 4x4 drivetrains, which represented a 41 market share of the 4x4 pickup truck segment.
This can be attributed to Ford expanding its truck portfolio with the launch of the new Ranger FX4 and a 4x4 variant.
Ford offers a 4x4 variant for the Ranger XLS, FX4 and Wildtrak, as well as the Ranger Raptor.
Last year also saw Ford making a successful return to the local small SUV segment with the launch of the all-new Ford Territory.
In just over five months, Ford sold 1,925 units of the Territory, gaining a 33 percent share in the small SUV segment.
The year 2020 also saw Ford expanding its footprint in the SUV and pickup segments in the country with the launch of the Everest Trend, the Everest Sport, and the F-150 full-size pickup.
