JAC Motors Philippines to Enter Local Compact SUV Segment |
Triesenburg Auto Corp. (TAC), the official distributor of JAC Passenger and Light Commercial Vehicles in the country, is set to enter the local crossover/compact SUV segment with the all-new JAC S4.
Just like most of the recent car launches, the JAC S4 will be launched online, through JAC Motor Philippines' Facebook page, on July 5 at 6PM.
JAC Motors International top executives will grace the event, headed by its General Manager Davide Zhang, who will talk about the company and its plans in the new normal; JAC Overseas Automobile Research Institute Head, Kong DeXing, who will elaborate on the technology behind the JAC S4; and JAC Design Center Head, Brian Li, who will discuss the design inspiration and how the JAC S4 was conceptualized.
The country's representatives, on the other hand, are Dan Rudolph Navarro, Group General Manager, who will reveal the JAC S4 and its overall promise; as well as Brian Badilla, Marketing and Sales Director, to discuss the technology and innovation behind the vehicle.
Underneath the hood of the S4 is a 1.5L turbo-charged engine with i-VVT Technology, capable of producing 147 horsepower and 210 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT).
According to TAC, the JAC S4 was designed to be young, dynamic, versatile and free. The S4 model adopts a new design language of sharp and keen. The front face uses an individualized splendid wing grille, and the body uses a lot of angular and straight-line designs. The S4 has a double-waist line, a sharp-eyed headlights, ridge-type LED taillights, two-color sports wheel hubs, suspended roof and shark fin window line, making it a keen, recognizable and eye-catching vehicle.
Interior features of the JAC S4 include the Intuitive Touch Control Panel on the dashboard, eliminating buttons and knobs for the AC control and other functions of the vehicle; a 10.25" Multi-Media touchscreen on top of the dashboard linkable to any smart phone and controls other features of the vehicle such as cornering lamps, vehicle positioning lighting, among others; a 10.25" LED Instrument Panel which provides three different views; Smart Entry and Push Start System; and electric tailgate operated through the remote key or through its sensor under the bumper.
On the safety front, the JAC S4 uses Volkswagen's VDA quality system giving it that trusted German Quality. Its body is rugged titanium that can withstand pressures of up to 4 times its own body weight. Aside from front dual airbags, the JAC S4 also has front side airbags, and side curtains on. Some other safety features are Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Front Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Electronic Stability Control, Hill-Start Assist, Brake Override System, and Lane Departure Warning.
With all these, TAC sees that the JAC S4 is a superior and competitive option in the local compact SUV segment at an affordable price. The JAC S4 starts at Php 878,000 and is available in 6 different colors.
