With the recent introduction of the Geely brand and its flagship model in the Philippines, Sojitz G Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of the Geely cars in the country has found a best way to showcase the capabilities and features of their flagship vehicle, the Coolray; that was by bringing group of motoring scribes to a two-day media drive event in Bataan aboard the vehicle.

Fifteen motoring journalists were invited to experience how cool the Coolray is. According to the company, they chose Bataan as their drive destination for its' route were a mixture of public roads, highways and at the same time, mountain hills which were really perfect to test the Coolray's engine and technology.

The Geely Coolray comes in three variants namely Sport, Premium and Comfort. It is powered by a 1.5-liter, Gasoline Direct Injection 3-cylinder Engine equipped with Turbocharger and Dual Variable Valve Timing paired with 7-speed Wet Dual Clutch Transmission which produces 177 PS of power and 255 Nm of torque.

Additionally, according to Geely PH, the new SUV was designed using the youth power concept, with lines and angles which distinguishes itself from other small SUVs in the market. Other features include a 7-inch LED Instrument panel display which matches the 3 different driving modes, Normal, Eco and Sport and a 10.25-inch Multimedia Touch screen with QD link android connectivity function.

Geely Philippines' Marketing Section Manager Ryan Isana shares, "The reception of the Philippine market [to Geely] was really good. As of the moment, we already released 76 units to the public so, that number is really growing, and I hope to see more Geely cars on our road." Furthermore, he also shared their company's plan for the year 2020; they are planning to launch two more models next year.

The new Coolray is available at the Geely dealership in North EDSA with the following prices: Sport (Php 1,198,000), Premium (Php 1,088,000) and Comfort (Php 978,000).
