Honda Brio and Civic Test Drive

Honda Cars Philippines took a fun road trip to La Union, Baguio and Clark, together with the members of the motoring media to test drive the newly launched all-new Honda Brio. Six all-new Brio units paraded through the cities, including the two new variants namely 1.2 RS Black Top CVT and the 1.2 V CVT.

Traversing from one province to another, it allowed the all-new Brio to showcase its refreshed exterior. The drive highlighted the model's Honeycomb Front Grille and Multi-Reflector Halogen Headlights with LED Parking Light Guides. Over at the rear, the Brio features a new design as compared to the large glass panel found in its predecessor. This allows the all-new Brio to maintain an excellent rear visibility and provide improved body rigidity, while providing safety for passengers. These features make the styling of the Brio look sporty.

In addition, as part of Honda's Sporty Spirit, the all-new Brio RS features an aggressive sporty exterior design with its RS Design Gloss Black Front Grille, RS Design 15-inch Alloy Wheels, RS Design Side Sill Garnish and Rear Bumper Garnish, and Tailgate Spoiler. All of these added features made the all-new Brio RS a sight to behold on the road.

Moreover, during the test drive activities, participants were able to experience firsthand the comfortability of the all-new Brio's interior. The participants had a pleasant ride driving from Manila to La Union, going up to Baguio and going down to Clark, all because the all-new Brio comes with a larger cabin space and improved legroom, thanks to its 60mm extended wheelbase and 90mm extended cargo depth.

Above all, Honda was able to showcase the power and agility of the all-new Brio through different road conditions. Upon experiencing the long drive in expressway to La Union and Clark and the uphill and winding roads of Baguio, the participants were able to experience a smooth, powerful off-the-line acceleration and efficient fuel economy with its new 1.2 Liter 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces a maximum power of 90 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission developed based on Honda's Earth Dreams Technology.

On top of all this, Honda also showcased the new 2019 Civic. Through a guided route at Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga, the Civic's power and capabilities were highlighted as well. The new Civic powered through the North with its 1.5L i-VTEC Turbo Engine that produces 173hp and 230Nm of torque and 141hp and 174Nm of torque for the 1.8L i-VTEC Engine. These figures are made more powerful by the Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission.

The C-Segment leader also boasted its comfortable ride with the New Civic's advanced and sophisticated interior. The RS Turbo CVT's 8-way power adjustable driver seat gave the test drivers the ideal seating position with just one touch. The high center console, leather seats, refreshed leather interior trims, and new sport pedals for the RS Turbo variant gave the participants the sports car vibe.

Upon arriving in Clark, the participants got a glimpse of the New Civic's refreshed features. Here, they were able to fully appreciate the Civic RS Turbo's newly designed Front Bumper, new 18-inch Belrina Black RS Alloy Wheels and new 16-inch Shark Gray Metallic Alloy Wheels for the 1.8 E CVT.

Throughout the three-day event, participants were confident to drive the all-new Brio and the new Civic as both of these cars come equipped with the essential active and passive vehicle safety features. For the all-new Brio, Honda's G-CON technology ensured added protection to passengers in an event of a collision, together with the other standard features. Meanwhile for the new Civic, safety was brought by its advanced safety features including Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, among others. In addition, the RS Turbo CVT is packed with additional safety features such as Front Driver and Passenger Side Airbags and Side Curtain Airbags for added protection for the passengers.

These features make both the all-new Brio and the new Civic worthy of their respective 5-Star ASEAN NCAP safety ratings.
