The new BMW G60 5 Series sedan is now available for sale in the country.
BMW Philippines opted to bring in two variants - the 520i with a mild hybrid powertrain and the full electric i5 eDrive40.
BMW chose the Fifth at Rockwell to launch the two 5-Series models - the 520i priced at 4.99 million pesos and the i5 eDrive40 at 5.79 million pesos.
In including a full electric variant of the new 5-Series, BMW Philippines sees more full electric BMWs on the local roads.
The 520i is powered by a 2.0-liter in-line-4 turbocharged gasoline engine with 48V mild hybrid tech delivering 208 horsepower and 330 Newton-meters of torque.
This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
The i5 eDrive40 comes with a single rear-mounted electric motor that generates 340 horsepower and 430Newton-meters of torque. BMW says an 81.2kWh battery gives the i5 dDrive40 a range of up to 582 kilometers on a full charge.
Both new 5-Series variants already features BMW ConnectedDrive first available locally in the BMW i4.
