"The objective of this event is to partner with GawadKalinga. We share the same advocacy with them. We are inspired for what they do with their kids. This football sport is also the sport of Suzuki and I think with their SipaG program, we are enjoyed with them to support the kids of the Philippines."

During the turnover, Suzuki Philippines executives and GawadKalinga representatives joined in handing out more than 900 items consisting of soccer balls, vests, T-shirts and polo shirts to 30 kids aged 12 and below, each one representing GawadKalinga's SipaG clubs.

The football division of the SipaG program has more than 14 clubs nationwide including those based in Metro Manila and in some parts of Visayas and Mindanao. The recipients of the donated items also include new teams that will open this year in far-flung areas such as Tawi-Tawi, Siargao, North Cotobato, Sultan Kudarat, Butuan and Marawi, where play therapy will be conducted among the kids affected by the war.

"It's very lucky for us since our branding activity of sponsorship for Suzuki Cup organized by AFF, ASEAN Football Federation. It was a game in December of last year. Suzuki Philippines was able to invite our small friends from Smokey Mountain. Since then, we are also able to meet with GK. We start talking on what we can do. This maybe a fast day for us, we are able to give some opportunity to meet them, we are able to distribute something for them. We, Suzuki Philippines, would like to support those people so that they can be motivated because they have possibility or potentiality and these are also unlimited, so we just decided to support."

Suzuki Philippines also sponsored the football players who represented the Philippines in the AFF Suzuki Cup held last December 2016.
