HONDA CARS PHILIPPINES UNVEILS THE NEW CITY

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., recently launched the New City in an event held at theCity of Dreams, Paranaque City.

With the concept "Advanced Energetic Smart Star", Honda unveiled the refreshed look of the New City with a high-tech and sporty design, fuel efficient, and with safety features that provide customers with the smartest ownership experience.

Honda also presented the interior of the New City, starting withits more advanced design, decorative panel, and plush leather seats for the VX+ variant that highlight the New City's sporty feel. The New City's gauges and Push Start Button have also been redesigned. For added convenience, the VX and VX+ variants are now equipped with Cruise Control that maintains a steady driving speed set by the driver.

The released specs of the New City include a 1.5-liter i-VTEC SOHC 4-cylinder engine that produces 120PS at 6,600rpm and 14.8kg-m of torque at 4,800rpm. The New City also features Honda's Eco Assist System which consists of the ECON button and eco-coaching ambient meter to promote smart and fuel efficient driving habit.

Another highlight of the event was the introduction of the newly-seated Honda Cars Philippines President and General Manager, Noriyuki Takakura.

Only been here for two months since Takakura-san was assigned as the new President and General Manager of Honda Cars Philippines, a few things have caught his attention as this is also his first time in the country.

"I joined Honda 15 years ago and after that, I basically work in Honda in domestic market in Japan. And especially I had the experience in the marketing, product planning, and then after that, I was in charge of Hokaido area in Japan for two years. Then after that, I was assigned to move in Australia for 4 years and stay there and worked as CEO and Managing Director of Honda Australia. Then newly, I was assigned as the President of the Honda Cars Philippines from April this year."

During his reign, Takakura-san is positive towards Honda having a larger market in the Philippines.

"For me, Philippine market is actually growing. The market, economy, it is growing much faster than other countries, even in the Asian countries. As a such, we are having good view for the Philippine market and Philippine economy. And also, I was really impressed that Philippine people are very open and very friendly, so I'm very happy to work here in Philippines."
