1st Peugeot Philippines Tennis invitational Open

Peugeot Philippines recently staged its first Peugeot Philippines Tennis Invitational Open 2017 last March 10-12 at the Valle Verde Country Club.

This year's invitational gathers 192 participants from various sports clubs and groups nationwide. The champions of each division were rewarded a trip to Paris, France to catch a live 2017 Roland Garros match on May 28 to June 11.

Peugeot Philippines President Glen Dasig expressed his gratitude to the participants and also highlighted Peugeot's aim to support the local tennis scene.

" We had tremendous support from all the participants, 192 participants from 32 sports clubs from all over the country and we're very very ecstatic. We just came from the event and it was held March 10-12 coming from the round robin of 32 to 12 to eight and then eventually to four and then semi finals and then finals. So you know tennis is very close to our hearts. Peugeot has been supporting the tennis sports since more than 30 years ago. We've been partners with Roland Garros for the longest time as their mobility provider and we're grateful for the support of the people who have joined us. We were able to contribute a lot to enthusiasts and all these three days they showed sportsmanship, camaraderie, people were cheering their teammates, they were egging them on to give their best and that's the kind of values we want to espouse in Peugeot as well. They are aligned with our values and we are very happy that we are able to successfully stage this tournament for this year."

Simultaneous to the tennis tournament was a mini test drive of Peugeot vehicles.

" The test drive went really well. We had several participants try the units. Of course the particular favorite was the Peugeot 1308 so a lot of people were able to try that out."

After the success of the first tennis invitational, Peugeot Philippines will be holding another tournament in October.
