Isuzu Philippines continues driver training program

Apart from its various corporate social responsibility projects pushing for technical education for underprivileged youths, as well as for the protection of the environment, Isuzu Philippines Corporation or IPC is also concerned with promoting road safety. As part of this advocacy, the company has been holding a series of driver training activities that are designed to help make roads a safer place for both motorists and pedestrians.

IPC recently held the 5th leg of its training series for drivers of Isuzu's heavy-duty truck models. Held at the Honda Safety Driving Center or HSDC in Paranaque City, the training lecture is done in a classroom environment while the actual driving is conducted in the controlled facility of HSDC to avoid traffic related issues and ensure over-all safety.

The exercises in the training sessions are meant to produce truck drivers who not only are better equipped at handling their vehicles, but also more knowledgeable in operating the various specialized functions of Isuzu's C Series and E Series heavy-duty trucks. The training includes lecture on MJX16 transmission operation, vehicle inspection and maintenance, and proper clutch adjustment.

Along with these, drivers are also taught techniques on how to minimize fuel consumption, as well as imbibe in them defensive driving skills so they may take the proper attitude while on the road.

Upon completion of the training program, drivers who participated are awarded certificates of attendance that attest to their newly achieved level of competency.
